## RIDE SUMMARY ##
Slightly longer (and slightly hillier) than the usual 45 miles but I think it is worth it. If the slight extra distance and elevation concerns you, especially if you are new to the club/was thinking of coming down for the first time, then just drop me a message and we can have a quick chat.
Think the vast majority will be totally on board with the route though. A bit of a suburban drag to get out there but we’re head out towards Mottram Moor then Padfield where we’ve got a nasty little drag up a hill we’ve descended up a few times and then onto the Mark Leigh sponsored Devel’s Elbow. This takes us out to the Woodhead where we turn off to ascend the reverse Holme Moss climb. Real tough one, hopefully we get a nice clear day so we can enjoy the views and scenery.
Brilliant but hairy descent down here, so don’t be a hero and make sure you are anticipating the hairpins.
We’ll stop for a very brief coffee(if we are making good time) at the foot of the descent before heading out passed the reservoirs onto the A635. Expect we’ll have a bit of a slog with a headwind in our face over the A635 but the descent will be totally worth it. My personal fave descent down the Isle of Sky ride. Really enjoyable.
Then it’s a meander back out to Prestwich where we will stop for the post ride drink at Woodthorpe.
