Hi Everyone,

Here’s the details for Saturday’s ride. sorry about the delay!

Saturday March 4th – Winter – ‘Bury-Burnley-Back’ // 9am

Route Link: Bury-Burnely-Back GPX
Distance: 47 miles
Elevation: 2,800 ft approx.
Moving time: Approx 3.5 hours – 4 Hours // Total Time approx 4 hours-4.5 Hours. (very approximate dependent on rider pace and general stops)
Start: 09:00 at St Mary’s Flower Park, Prestwich
Post Ride: Parkfield Inn, Whitefield (Prestwich only 1.5 miles away if you don’t want to attend post ride).

March’s first ride clocks in a little longer but please don’t be hugely put off, as the climbing is (relatively) less to compensate.

That said, it’s an Allez Prestwich ride and the climbing still clocks in at 2,800ft, so don’t be expecting a flat one!

Rob has put together a great route, heading up as far as Burnley, via  the Rossendale valley, past dunnockshaw reservoir. On the way home we come back via Ramsbottom. It’s a nice undulating route, which should give you a little bit of everything.

The post ride is the ever popular Parkfield Inn. If you’re not coming for the post ride drinks, then it’s simple enough to find your way back to Prestwich. It’s only down Bury New Road for 1.5 miles until you’re back at the flower park.
