Saturday February 4th – Winter – ‘Bon Hiver’ // 9am

Route Link: Bon Hiver GPX
Distance: 39 miles
Elevation: 2,900 ft approx.
Moving time: Approx 3 hours – 3.5 Hours // Total Time approx 3.5 hours-4 Hours. (very approximate dependent on rider pace and general stops)
Start: 09:00 at St Mary’s Flower Park, Prestwich
Post Ride: Parkfield Inn, Whitefield (ride ends here, Prestwich only 1.5 miles away).

February’s first ride takes us North up into those Lancs hills. It’s getting harder and harder to not repeat certain parts of routes these days but here’s one I don’t think we’ve done (or we’ve rarely done). The reverse way up Broadhead road ( in fact, it’s coming back to me now) and also the reverse of Grane Road. So we’ll get to descend it!

At the end of Grane road, we’re going to head and pick up the Owd Betts reverse as well, all the way down to Norden before looping back round to head west to being the journey back home.

I’ve marked the end of the route as Parkfield Inn, as that’s where we’ll go for the post ride. If you’re not coming for the post ride drinks, then it’s simple enough to find your way back to Prestwich. You’d turn left onto Bury New Road just after mile 38 and then keep going down Bury New Road for 1.5 miles until you’re back at the flower park.
