Tuesday December 27th 2016 – Xmas – ‘Mark’s Post-Christmas Pick me Up ride II’ // 9am

Route Link: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17909705
Distance: 47 miles
Elevation: 3,000 ft approx.
Moving time: Approx 3.5 hours – 4 Hours // Total Time approx 4 hours-4.5 Hours. (very approximate dependent on rider pace and general stops)
Start: 09:00 at St Mary’s Flower Park, Prestwich
Post Ride: TBC

As what has now become an Allez Prestwich tradition, Mark Leigh is going to be running a ride for everyone to blow off the Christmas cobwebs. So go on, have that extra slice of turkey. Why not have another beer? You’ll have earned it.

The route heads out towards the Uppermill / Denshaw area and clocks in at 47 miles and has standard hilly profile. There’s some lovely roads between the Greenfield and Uppermill sections of this ride and these have been some personal favourites over the year.

I’m fairly certain that riders will likely be heading an establishment to continue the Christmas cheer/complete their post-ride “recovery”. All entirely optional and subject to change on the day. There’s also the possibility of a cafe stop along the way but I’ll let Mark confirm.

Mark Leigh is the ride leader. Huge thanks to him for planning and leading the ride.

We complete the route as fast as the slowest rider and always wait at the top of hills and major turns.

Also, please visit the website, Facebook or Twitter channels periodically, and especially the day of the ride, to ensure nothing has changed. We sometimes have to make weather enforced changes to start times or in extremes may even have to cancel rides.
