A collaboration route between Rob and Craig.

This is the first of our real “Winter Rides”, hence the slightly shorter distance but it still definitely warrants it’s big ride status. Although it is slightly shorter, this is still a testing ride and it’d be worth checking in with us if you are unsure whether it might be a tough.

We head out towards Middleton and Shaw in order to swing past Hollingworth Lake on our way to the first proper climb of the day – Blackstone Edge. A really nice steady climb with some steep parts for good measure, a nice test of all your climbing arsenal.

It might be a little early in the ride for an ice cream stop at the top, so we’ll probably just start the amazingly fun descent down Cragg Vale! This is super fun and, as you’ll know from coming up the other way, it’s pretty long, so attack it/cruise it however you like, just be safe and enjoy the fact you are doing down hill.

We get to Mytholmroyd and then head to Hebden for a little hill climbing circuit. We head up Heptonstall Road and take on some hilly cobbles (thanks Rob!) before heading back down to Hebden before heading back up the hills for another two miles between Mytholm and our lunch stop of Todmorden.

After a bit to eat and some refreshments, it’s time to start a steady climb up to Bacup before a pretty much downhill/flat 20 miles back to All The Shapes for post ride drinks.
