Hey Everyone!

This is the ride this Saturday and it should be a beauty. 9am start from St Mary’s Flower Park in Prestwich. Got a nice longer stop off later in the ride. see details below (click the link in the title for the Facebook event)

Saturday 28th May 2016 – Standard Ride – Pantessex Faux ‘Sportive’ I // 9:00am

Distance: 48 miles
Elevation: 3,000ft approx.
Moving time: Approx 4 Hours

This standard ride is slightly longer than our usual standard ride but don’t let that put you off. The climbing is not too bad and , unusually for a standard ride, there will be refreshments stop off at around mile 40 rather than the usual post ride drink at the clubhouse. All will be revealed on the day! Everyone is welcome to join us or, if pressed for time, you can push and navigate back to Prestwich from Woodhouses, Failsworth where the stop off is.

Thanks to Mark Leigh for the route and he will be leading the ride with help from myself and the other Allez P stalwarts. The route itself takes us out towards Hollingworth Lake (which I passed for the first time on our Allez P Monument ride) which is very fetching. We then head south and pick up the hills around Denshaw, Grains Bar, Uppermill and Greenfield before heading back west towards Mossley and Woodhouses where we will have our stop off for a while (time unknown) and some refreshments. From here it’s just a short 7 mile spin back to Prestwich.

Moving time should be around 4 hours but this doesn’t include stops, mechanicals or other unplanned events. Always dependent on the pace of the riders who attend and other factors. As we’re having the stop off at Woodhouses, it’s difficult to predict when we’ll be back in Prestwich but if you headed straight back then you’d most likely be back in Prestwich at any time from 13:30-14:00(ish). Add the time at the refreshment/cafe stop onto that to get your final time if you are hanging around.

Here’s a link to some important information/safety stuff about our rides, please have a read before attending our rides. https://allezprestwich.co.uk/ride-information-safety-tips/

Also, please the website, Facebook or Twitter channels periodically, and especially the day of the ride, to ensure nothing has changed. We sometimes have to make weather enforced changes to start times or in extremes may even have to cancel rides.
