We’ve published the details for our final ride before Christmas on our rides page. This should be a good ride to cap off the year before we stuff our faces with copious amounts of food and drink. Let’s hope the weather system is feeling warm and fuzzy and let’s us have a nice run out as an early Christmas gift.

It’d be really lovely to get a nice bunch out for one last push before Christmas.  A little celebration of all that we’ve all achieved together this year (miles, the great outdoors, friendships).

Here’s the details. Hope to see you there.

Owd Betts & Edenfield Loop

Route: Owd Betts GPX

Distance: 34 miles
Climbs: approx. 2,300 ft.
Moving Time: 2.5-3 hours approx.

A route sticking to slightly more main roads due to inclement wintery conditions.
There’s a nice steady yet testing climb up Edenfield Road up towards Owd Betts and on to Edenfield. We stick to a few of Bury’s b-roads as well on the route, so hopefully shouldn’t be too intense.

It would be nice to have a nice little ride and maybe some drinks afterwards, so a suggested pub/cafe stop at the end of either All The Shapes (which is fast becoming an Allez Prestwich favourite) or at The Parkfield Inn, Whitefield where we’ve also been a few times. Nice boozer. Both places have good options for food if anyone would like lunch.

As ever,we complete the route as fast as the slowest ride and always wait at the top of hills and major turns.

As with the last few of our winter rides, we review the weather a little nearer to the time so keep your eyes posted here on the site or on Facebook/Twitter for cancellations or amendments to the route.

Here’s a link to some information/safety stuff about our rides, please have a read. http://wp.me/P5dBSK-3Z
